Portable Eddy Current Flaw Detectors

Portable eddy current (EC) flaw detectors inspect metallic parts and perform highly reliable and advanced flaw detection of surface and near-surface defects. Evident offers portable eddy current equipment to meet a broad range of applications, including the detection of surface or near-surface defects and the inspection of bolt holes. Our eddy current testing equipment includes the latest advances in eddy current flaw detection for precise use in various inspection applications. In an eddy current inspection job, you need equipment you can trust. Our eddy current flaw detectors are built with endurance in mind and are field-proven to withstand even the most demanding conditions.

Eddy Current Flaw Detectors

NORTEC 600

The NORTEC 600™ instrument incorporates high-performance eddy current flaw detection into a compact, durable unit. With its vibrant 5.7-inch VGA color display and true full-screen mode, the NORTEC 600 flaw detector produces user-selectable, high-contrast eddy current signals.

Probes for Tube Inspection

These probes for tube inspection are lightweight but solidly constructed and use eddy current, remote field, magnetic flux leakage, and IRIS ultrasound technologies. These probes are used for ferromagnetic or non-ferromagnetic tube inspection applications.

OmniScan MX ECA/ECT

The OmniScan™ MX ECA/ECT flaw detector is used to perform eddy current array testing inspections. The test configuration supports 32 sensor coils (up to 64 with an external multiplexer) working in bridge or transmit-receive mode. The operating frequency ranges from 20 Hz to 6 MHz with the option of using multiple frequencies in the same acquisition.

Rotating Bolthole Scanners

Our handheld rotating bolthole scanners work with our line of NORTEC eddy current flaw detectors for the inspection of fastener, bore, and bolt holes. Ideal for aircraft structural maintenance, our scanners help you find flaws fast with high-speed (up to 3000 rpm) and high-frequency (up to 6 MHz) eddy current testing. Boost productivity and comfort with handheld rotating scanners in right angle or ergonomic grip designs.

Probes for Tube Inspection

Tube Inspection Probes

The Evident tube probe range offers lightweight but sturdy solutions for various tube inspection methods, including eddy current (EC), remote field, magnetic flux leakage, and IRIS ultrasound. Our tube inspection probes are used for ferromagnetic or non-ferromagnetic tube inspection applications.
From eddy current bobbin probes to flexible bullet probes, our tube probe range includes solutions for a wide array of inspection needs. EC high-resolution tube probes are ideal for thin tubing inspections such as titanium tubing, while EC Airgun™ probes feature grooved designs, perfect for steam condensers, coolers, and heat exchangers. Each tube inspection probe has durable construction for quality you can trust, every time.

Tube inspection probes

Array Tube Probes
Eddy Current Array Tube Probes

Our TXE probes are ideal for detecting circumferential cracks, particularly those located at the edge of supports or tube sheets. The output display is an intuitive C-scan image. TXE probes can also be used to scan the whole length of the tube at very high speeds.

Remote Field Probes
Remote Field Probes

Remote field probes include a 32 dB preamplifier. These probes feature improved wear resistance and thicker casing, as well as improved differential response and SNR ratios. Built to detect irregularities such as pitting, corrosion, and erosion in ferromagnetic tubing, remote field probes are available in single exciter, dual pickups, and dual exciter designs.

Near-Field Probes
Near-Field Probes

Near-field probes offer excellent detection of internal corrosion, erosion, and axial cracking and return high-quality, amplitude-based signals that enable fast and simple data analysis. There is no need for a reference probe or extension. These probes are ideal for fin-fan carbon steel tube inspection.

NORTEC™ Rotating Bolthole Scanners

Find Flaws Fast in Bolt Holes

Our handheld rotating bolthole scanners work with our line of NORTEC™ eddy current flaw detectors for the inspection of fastener, bore, and bolt holes. Ideal for aircraft structural maintenance, our scanners help you find flaws fast with high-speed (up to 3000 rpm) and high-frequency (up to 6 MHz) eddy current testing.

  • Higher speed provides high-resolution data for improved flaw detection
  • LED alarm lights up if you hit a flaw so you can scan quickly without missing a defect
  • Inspect smaller defects at higher frequencies
  • High torque (direct drive)* for quick rotation of large probes

*Spitfire 3000 scanner only.

Cost-Effective Inspection of Fastener, Bore, and Bolt Holes

Save costs by using rotating bolthole scanners that adapt to your eddy current techniques, flaw detectors, and probes. Our scanners work with:

  • NORTEC flaw detectors equipped with the scanner and dual frequency options
  • 4-pin Fischer and LEMO connectors
  • Reflection differential probes*
  • Our probe kits for a convenient inspection toolbox, as well as individual probes

*Other coil types offered by customer request.
